UNCG First Day Complete

UNCG First Day^® Complete is a course materials delivery program (rental) that lowers the cost of course materials and ensures undergraduate students have their required course materials on the first day of class.

• Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
• One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
• An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.
• Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within Canvas.

Currently, the program is available only to undergraduate students.

The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to undergraduate students.

The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits or nursing kits.

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the UNCG First Day^® Complete program.

UNCG First Day^® Complete should represent significant benefits for most undergraduate students.

If you think your total cost will be less by purchasing the required course materials for your schedule some other way, then you can opt-out of the UNCG First Day^® Complete program through the UNCGenie site. Just log into UNCGenie and click on the icon for UNCG First Day Complete. Please note that when you opt-out of UNCG First Day^® Complete, it is for all your courses this semester. Should you later find that this program is more affordable for the semester, you can always opt back in, as long as it’s before the deadline dates below for Fall Session 2023:

The Opt Out window for Fall 2023 will close at midnight on August 28. 2023.

Undergraduate students will receive a course charge on their student bill that says UNCG First Day^® Complete. The charge is based on the number of credit hours per term. The rate is $20.00 per credit hour. So, if you are taking 15 credit hours, your UNCG First Day^® Complete charge would be $300.00 for all required course materials.

Students will be responsible for purchasing their required course materials either through the UNCG Bookstore or outside booksellers.

Students will receive emails and phone calls to remind them to verify their order. Students who do not verify their order and do not opt-out will still be charged for the UNCG First Day^® Complete program.

Yes. If a student has verified their order and did not opt-out of the program, they will still be charged.

Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks. If you do not return the textbooks, the charges for the bundle will go back onto your student account.

Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period.

You may return the book to the bookstore on the same terms and timelines currently in place. If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required textbooks/codes so that you have what you need.

Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.
