UNCG First Day Complete

UNCG First Day^® Complete is a course materials delivery program (rental) that lowers the cost of course materials and ensures UNCG students have their required course materials on the first day of class.

• Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
• One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
• An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.
• Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within Canvas.

All UNCG students will have access to the UNCG First Day Complete program.   

Students may opt out from the program beginning 30 days before the first day of class until the University census date for the fall and spring semesters.  (See the academic calendar.) 

The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to UNCG students.

The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits or nursing kits.

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the UNCG First Day^® Complete program.

Fall 2024 Opt-Out Information

UNCG First Day^® Complete program may represent significant benefits for most students. However, students may opt out of the UNCG First Day Complete program here beginning 30 days before the start of classes.

Please note that when opting out of the program, you will be opting out of all courses for the semester.  You may not opt out on a course-by-course basis.  It will be up to each student to evaluate their required course materials and determine whether remaining in or opting out of the UNCG First Day^® Complete program is financially beneficial. 

You can always opt back in by visiting the link in your opt-out confirmation email or by using the link above, as long as it’s before the opt-out deadline for the semester. 

If you opt out of the UNCG First Day^® Complete program, you will lose access to your digital materials and any physical materials covered by the program.  You will have to repurchase these materials through the UNCG Bookstore or another seller. 

Students will receive a course charge on their student bill that says UNCG First Day Complete.  The charge is based on the number of credit hours per term.  The rate is $19.00 per credit hour.  For example, if you are taking 15 credit hours, your UNCG First Day Complete charge would be $285.00 for all required course materials.

Students will be responsible for purchasing their required course materials either through the UNCG Bookstore or outside booksellers.

Students will receive emails and phone calls to remind them to verify their order. Students who do not verify their order and do not opt-out will still be charged for the UNCG First Day^® Complete program.

Yes. If a student has verified their order and did not opt-out of the program, they will still be charged.

Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks. If you do not return the textbooks, the charges for the bundle will go back onto your student account.

Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period.

You may return the book to the bookstore on the same terms and timelines currently in place. If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required textbooks/codes so that you have what you need.

Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.
